Reading, Articles, Books, Quotes: Please share!
Good morning all,
I wanted to start a post where we could all share what we have been reading. I love You4ia and to make it better I would love to interact with all of the readers.
Please post quotes, or books, or articles that have inspired you. Please share your thoughts about them.

I'm currently reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill one chapter a day.
At first I was pretty inspired. I understand that thoughts are things. They create the reality that we live.
Then I hit Chapter 7. Organized Planning was the title of the chapter. I was zipping along, attentive to what makes a good leader....zipping along...what are some causes of failure... Then I got to the last 4 pages or so. (I will share some chatter with you, it sounded like a bunch of propoganda). The last 4 page of the chapter are about what makes America Great. It was written right after the Great Depression and the author had a lot to say about the state of affairs in the United States. It detracted somewhat from the original message. Thankfully I made it through and today I'm on to Chapter 8, titled Decision.

The Joy Factor
I recently read The Joy Factor subtitled 10 Sacred Practices for Radiant Health. Susan uses the principles of the Law of Attraction throughout the book without labeling it such. It's a very balanced approach to health that anyone can follow. You can read more about it on her website, including excerpts and reviews of the book, radio interviews, etc.

Hmmm perhaps I will check it
Hmmm perhaps I will check it out. Sounds interesting. Thank you for sharing!
Here is a quote from yesterday's chapter that resonated with me:
"Close friends and relatives while not meaning to do so often handicap one through "opinions" and sometimes through ridicule, which is meant to be humorous. Thousands of men and women carry inferiority complexes with them all through life, because some well meaning but ignorant person destroyed their confidence through opinions or ridicule."
"You have a brain and mind of your own, use it and reach your own decisions." Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill

Books, Reading Berry Guuuuuuud.
What movie did "Berry Guuuuuud" come from? Anybody? Anybody?
What movie did "Anybody. Anybody?" come from? Anybody?
Great topic Meta. Keep this alive in Status updates and I would encourage you to create a book or reading club in the Groups section of You4ia! Have fun with that!

A poem to share: The Invitation by Gwynn O'Gara
I came across this poem this weekend and I thought I would share.
From Oriah Mountain Dreamer
The Invitation by Gwynn O’Gara
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, or you have been opened by life’s betrayal or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitation of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty, even when it is not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, wary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
